Newletter for February 24 - 28, 2014

Hello 3rd Grade Families!

 It is hard to believe that it is the last full week of February and with two weeks left of 3rd quarter.
 Looking Ahead:

Science Fair: Project boards and completed journals are due at the end of this week on the 28th.  Students may start bring in their boards and journals anytime this week. The science fair will be held on Wednesday, March 5 from 6-7 in the cafenasium.

AIMS: AIMS is coming quickly, so this is the time that we will start combining some AIMS practice with their classwork and homework so they are comfortable and prepared.


Multiplication Facts- Please be studying NIGHTLY!

Curriculum:
Math: This week will be working with mass and weight, classifying triangles, and symmetry.  We will continue working on our multiplication and division skills.
Spalding: We will read and write 30 spelling words and 20 phonograms.
Reading: We will be reading a story called "Mystery at Camp Cloud White".
Shurley/Writing: We will focus elements of mysteries and begin writing a mystery.
Leadership: We are working on Habit 6 as we work with Mrs. Cox’s afternoon kindergarten class.  We will also be synergizing as a class as we start to plan for our class’s assembly presentation that is coming up in March.
Social Studies: This week we will continue our unit about the early American settlers.

Spelling: Write spelling words one time in print then choose 5 words to write in cursive.  Be sure to put your words in alphabetical order!
Tuesday:
