Hello 3rd Grade Families!

Looking Ahead:

Friday Assembly: This Friday, March 7.  Come see our class perform our skit in our Friday Assembly.  Join us at 8:00 or 8:30.  We are excited to preform to a leadership rendition of Survivor's Eye of the Tiger called Eye of the Leader.  Students are encouraged to bring in a play guitar or make one out of cardboard.  They are also encouraged to dress like an 80's hair band member.  They will have to wear their Friday uniform after the assembly.  They are so excited for this performance and have been working hard.

Science Fair:  The science fair will be held on Wednesday, March 5 from 6-7 in the cafenasium.








AIMS: AIMS is coming quickly, so this is the time that we will start combining some AIMS practice with their classwork and homework so they are comfortable and prepared.

Curriculum:
Math: We will be working in our Buckle Down booklets as we reviewing graphing, exponents, weights and measurements and fractions.
Reading: We are working out of our Buckle Down booklets.  We will be reviewing the different types of genres
Shurley/Writing: This week we are working brainstorming and putting our ideas together to form a beginning, middle and end of a story.
Leadership: .  We will also be synergizing as a class as we start to plan for our class’s assembly presentation that is this Friday, March 7.
Social Studies: This week we will continue our unit about the early American settlers.

Math-Symmetry Worksheet
Spelling: Write spelling words one time in print then choose 5 words to write in cursive.  Be sure to put your words in alphabetical order!
Tuesday:
Reading- Buckle Down Lesson 9, pages 110 - 113
Math-Buckle Down Lesson 8, pages 110 - 112
Spelling: Write spelling words one time in print then choose 5 words to write in cursive. Be sure to put your words in alphabetical order!
Wednesday:
Reading- Buckle DownLesson 11
Math-Buckle Down lesson 12, pages 152-153
Spelling: Choose an activity from the speller's choice menu.
Thursday:
Reading- Buckle Down lesson 12
Math-Buckle Down lesson 5, pages 76 - 79
Spelling: Write missed spelling words two times each.
